As we strive to deliver the highest quality services to both our members and providers, and in reviewing our past behavioral health member experience, we determined that we could improve our member’s quality of care, enhance provider engagement, and reduce overall costs by bringing our behavioral health services in-house—putting us on a path towards comprehensive integration of behavioral health with our clinical teams and provider partners; creating greater opportunities for innovation, and providing greater accountability that our members and providers are receiving the highest quality services.
Effective, May 1, 2016, FirstCare assumes full responsibility of the following:

  • Contracting and Credentialing of Behavioral Health Providers
  • Clinical Review of Services Requiring Authorization
  • Authorization Requirements
  • Follow Up with Members Post Discharge
  • Behavioral Health Case Management
  • Behavioral Health Customer Service
  • Provider Education and Collaboration
