Observation Stays No Longer Subject to Concurrent Review

FirstCare Health Plans continually strives to improve our processes and work with our providers to deliver the best care and services to our members.  To that end, FirstCare has made an important change impacting our concurrent review requirements:

Effective for dates of service on or after Tuesday, September 2, 2014, observation stays will no longer be subject to concurrent review.  We still require notification of the admission within one business day, but it will not be necessary to submit clinical review information if the member remains in observation status.  If you have questions, please contact your Provider Relations Representative at the number below:
