Texas STAR Providers—Urgent Reminder on Re-Enrollment/Revalidation

Thursday, October 22, 2015

As a reminder for Texas Medicaid providers on the importance of re-enrolling in the Texas Medicaid Program.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires that states complete the initial re-enrollment of all providers into state Medicaid programs by March 24, 2016. As a result, all Texas Medicaid providers enrolled prior to January 1, 2013, must comply—revalidating their enrollment information every three to five years. If you have yet to re-enroll in the Texas Medicaid Program, do not delay—the re-enrollment deadline with Texas Medicaid Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) is Thursday, March 24, 2016.
Failure to re-enroll may result in termination from the Medicaid program, making you ineligible to receive payment for services rendered by Fee-for-Service or from any Medicaid Managed Care Organization (MCO). FirstCare encourages you to re-enroll before the end of 2015, providing ample time for TMHP to process your application and avoid the possibility of termination.
The TMHP Provider Enrollment Portal has been updated with new features to simplify your re-enrollment, such as:

  • Pre-populated demographic data showing your account information;
  • Electronically sign your application agreements and upload supporting documentation;
  • Expanded error messages providing additional information; and
  • More robust web browser capabilities.
For additional guidance regarding the federal regulation and/or the reenrollment process and a list of FAQs for the process, please visit TMHP’s Provider Re-enrollment page at http://www.tmhp.com/Pages/Topics/ACA.aspx, or contact a TMHP Provider Enrollment Representative at 1.800.925.9126 (select “Option 2”).
