Why FirstCare?

Our health plans were built in Texas. We’re a part of this community. So when we say FirstCare is member-focused, what we really mean is that we care. Because we’re your friends and neighbors, we’re going to work with you to help you stay healthy. We’ll connect you with our community’s best hospitals, doctors, and health services. We’ll give you a fair deal. And when you call FirstCare, you’re talking to a real person, right here — who can provide real answers, right away. Because caring comes first.

Medicaid & CHIP

FirstCare STAR is a Medicaid program designed for low-income families, children, and pregnant women; including doctor visits, prescriptions and more. For those not eligible for Medicaid, but who can't afford other insurance, we offer FirstCare CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program)—providing health coverage for children in low-income families.
